Fellowships of $7,000 each are given biennially to poets and creative nonfiction writers on the basis of the excellence of their recent work. Grants alternate yearly with fellowships in fiction. Writers who are at least 18 years old, have lived in New York State for at least two years prior to application, and are not enrolled in a degree-granting program are eligible. Using the online submission system, submit up to 20 pages of poems by October 6, or up to 20 pages of creative nonfiction by October 8. There is no entry fee.
