Three awards of $1,500 each and publication in New Letters, the literary journal of the University of Missouri, Kansas City, are given annually for a group of poems, a short story, and a work of creative nonfiction. The New Letters Prize is given for a group of three to six poems, the Alexander Patterson Cappon Prize is given for a short story, and the Dorothy Churchill Cappon Prize is given for an essay. All entries will be considered for publication. Submit a manuscript of no more than 8,000 words with a $15 entry fee, which includes a one-year subscription to New Letters, by May 18.
