Housing Works

Rare Book Department Internship

Rare Book Department Internship

Housing Works Bookstore is seeking a summer intern who has a specific interest in rare and collectible books. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn how to evaluate and price used books intended specifically to be sold online. This is a great opportunity to learn about the rare book industry and the world of online sales. You will work closely with our rare book specialist and help us expand our online inventory. Prior interest in literature and ability to work with minimal supervision a plus.

The Housing Works Bookstore Café invites our customers join the fight against AIDS and homelessness simply by buying or donating books; eating at our cafe; coming to concerts, readings, and special events; or volunteering for our staff. All proceeds directly benefit our parent organization, Housing Works, Inc., the nation’s largest minority-controlled AIDS service provider. Housing Works provides housing, healthcare, job training, and advocacy for New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS.

Thursday through Sunday preferred. Ten to 20 hours a week.

Write to ubcvolunteers@housingworks.org for more details. Please include resume and cover letter.
