The Writer’s Retreat at Good Contrivance Farm [1]
Good Contrivance Farm, an educational nonprofit, offers residencies of up to four weeks year-round to poets, fiction writers, and creative nonfiction writers on a Victorian farm in Reisterstown, Maryland, located 24 miles north of Baltimore. Residents are provided with private lodging in a renovated barn loft, which includes one bedroom, a bathroom, a full kitchen, a dining area, and a library; or in the Hen House Cottage, which includes a sleeping area with a queen-sized bed, a full kitchen, and a bathroom. The cost of the residency in the Barn Loft is $105 for an overnight stay (plus $25 for an additional person), $625 for a week ($774 for two people), $600 per week for a two- or three-week stay ($749 for two people), or $2,362 for a month ($2,925 for two people). The cost of the residency in the Hen House Cottage is $75 for an overnight stay, $446 for a week, $421 per week for a two- or three-week stay, or $1,688 for a month.
