Toyon Literary Magazine [1]
Toyon is Humboldt State University English department’s annual literary magazine. Run entirely by students since its first issue in 1954, Toyon showcases the work of established and emerging writers and artists from Humboldt County and all over the world.
We publish distinguished writing and artwork, with a particular interest in promoting environmental and social justice. We seek diverse voices from around the world and welcome submissions in all languages. We recognize that the texts we encounter sometimes challenge us, and that can be a sign of merit and value. We make it a practice to interrogate our readerly biases and tastes.
