All Write Creative Nonfiction Conference

The 2022 All Write Creative Nonfiction Conference was held from October 19 to October 23 at the Spencertown Academy in Columbia County, New York. The conference featured one-hour workshops to discuss 15 to 20 pages of each writer’s work, an opening night reception, author talks, a publishing panel, and craft workshops for nonfiction writers. While all workshops were held in person, the panelists and presenting authors attended the conference virtually. The faculty included poet and nonfiction writers Donna Kaz and Pramila Venkateswaran; fiction and nonfiction writers Rahne Alexander and Vanessa Mártir; and nonfiction writer Taylor Harris. Participating publishing professionals included publicist Michelle Blankenship (Blankenship Public Relations). Tuition, which included all conference events and meals for Saturday and Sunday, was $400. Housing was not provided. Writers submitted a creative nonfiction writing sample of 10 to 14 pages, which could have included up to two excerpts from longer works or a complete work of prose, with a $6 application fee by September 10. Two or three scholarships were also available for local writers from Columbia County, New York; to apply, writers submitted a creative nonfiction writing sample of 10 to 14 pages, which could have included up to two excerpts from longer works or a complete work of prose, and a 500-word essay about what this scholarship would mean at this stage in their career with a $6 application fee by September 9.
