Broadleaf Writers Conference

The eighth annual Broadleaf Writers Conference was held from September 23 to September 24 at the Decatur Library in Decatur, Georgia. The conference featured panels and workshops for poets, fiction writers, and nonfiction writers, as well as individual pitch and mentoring sessions with agents and publishing professionals. The faculty included fiction writers Clay McLeod Chapman, Lynn Cullen, Andy Davidson, Jeffrey Dale Lofton, and Vanessa Riley. Participating publishing professionals included agents Erin Clyburn (Howland Literary), Michelle Z. Jackson (LCS Literary Services), and Lauren Spieller (Folio Literary Management). The cost of the conference was $225 ($200 for Broadleaf Writers members), which includes a consultation with an agent or publishing professional. Additional consultations were available for $25. Single-day passes were also available for $150. The cost to attend the conference virtually was $150. Registration was rolling through September 23. Lodging was available at several nearby hotels.
