Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway

The 30th annual Winter Poetry & Prose Getaway was held from January 12, 2024, to January 15, 2024, at the Seaview Hotel near Atlantic City. The program, sponsored by Murphy Writing of Stockton University, offered small, intensive workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as one-on-one tutorials, sunrise yoga, and open mic sessions. The faculty included poets Grisel Y. Acosta, celeste doaks, Catherine Doty, Luray Gross, Peter E. Murphy, Nancy Reddy, Christine E. Salvatore, J. C. Todd, Vincent Toro, and Gretna Wilkinson; fiction writers Marina Budhos and Marissa Johnson-Valenzuela; and creative nonfiction writers Judy Copeland, John Cotter, Hugo dos Santos, Anndee Hochman, and Tom McAllister. Tuition, which included some meals, was offered on a sliding scale from $535 to $735 based on financial need; lodging was not included. The cost for a room and meal package was $425 for a double room, $660 for a single room, or $895 for a shared room with a non-participating guest.
