Excited to announce April release of Gathered Light:
The Poetry of Joni Mitchell's Songs

This book, co-authored by Lisa and John Sornberger,is a compilation of original essays, poetry and short fiction, by an exciting group of authors, including Wally Lamb, Fred Wah (Poet Laureate of Canada), Cornelius Eady, Susan Deer Cloud, Sharon Bell Veer, Larry Klein, David Geffen, and many more.

Joni has contributed updated lyrics, which are presented as poetry for the first time in this book, plus a gorgeous cover painting.

Each contributor shares his or her connection to, interpretation of, and inspiration from their favorite Mitchell poem. Many comment on a larger societal or political issue explored therein. All share their experiences of why Joni’s work has been so important to them, and in doing so, touch yet transcend the personal.

Editors Lisa and John Sornberger live and write poetry and educational works, respectively, in Connecticut. They are thrilled by the creative energy and spirit of collaboration on this project. "It is high time Joni got her due as the poet she is", say the Sornbergers.
