The program also offers a concentration in mixed and hybrid writing for students who work in or across multiple genres, as well as special topics classes in screenwriting, image and text, and experimental writing.

The program hosts a Visiting Writers Series, and generous travel funding and summer research grants are available, as well as field writing residencies in a lighthouse on Lake Superior.
