Author's Bio

Alissa Sammarco is a writer and attorney who lives in Cincinnati, Ohio.  After living in the West and South, she retruned home the the Ohio River Valley.  With cinematic imagery, she captures a moment and emotion in her poems. While at the University of Rochester, she studied creative writing and economics.  Alissa’s poetry has appeared in print and online journals including Sheila-Na-Gig, Black Moon Magazine, Change Seven, Quiet Diamonds, Main Street Rag, Evening Street Review, Stone Canoe, Yearling, Ohio Bards, VIA: Voices in Italian Americana, Hags on Fire, and the 2021 and 2022 Lexington Poetry Month Anthologies.  She is the author of two poetry books, Beyond the Dawn (Turning Point 2023) and I See Them Now (Turning Point 2024).  Anticipated books: Moon Landing Day (Finishing Line Press, 2024), Cupcake Day (Turning Poing, 2025), and The Waiting Room (Turning Point, 2025).  You can find more information and order books at www.AlissaSammarco.com.
