Author's Bio

Andrew J. Calis has a PhD in English from The Catholic University of America and teaches at Archbishop Spalding High School in Maryland. His first book of poetry, Pilgrimages (Wipf & Stock, 2020), has been praised by James Matthew Wilson for having “the intensity of Hopkins” and for “layer[ing] light on light in hopes of helping us to see.” Andrew’s work has appeared in America, Dappled Things, Presence, Convivium, and elsewhere, and he lives outside of Baltimore with his wife and four children.
