Author's Bio

A native southern Californian, Cati Porter is the author of eleven books and chapbooks, including small mammals (Mayapple Press, 2023), Novel (Bamboo Dart Press, 2022) and The Body at a Loss (CavanKerry Press, 2019). She is also founding editor of the online literary journals Poemeleon: A Journal of Poetry (www.poemeleon.me) and Inlandia: A Literary Journey (www.inlandiajournal.net). She holds an MFA from Antioch University, Los Angeles and is the Executive Director of the Inlandia Institute, a regionally-focused literary nonprofit. She is currently at work on her first full-length nonfiction project, Clay Bodies, a hybrid memoir which explores the groundbreaking work of her grandfather and great-grandfather Rufus and Bradley Keeler and their contributions to the California Pottery and Arts and Crafts movement. She is the recipient of a 2023 Individual Artist Fellowship from the California Arts Council.
