Jameson Bayles

Poet

Author's Bio

A side effect of the military industrial complex, Jameson Bayles was born at a hospital at Forbes Field AFB just south of Topeka, KS. By the age of eighteen, Jameson had participated in a refueling mission with F-16s over the skies in South Dakota, stood atop an active missile silo, and was the bait in a counter-terrorism exercise with a USAF Security Forces flight at Whiteman AFB. After watching Nirvana perform at the 1992 MTV Music Awards, Jameson decided to pursue the path of becoming a writer.

Jameson Bayles has hosted poetry readings at the Weston Wine Company (Weston, MO), the Raven Bookstore (Lawrence, KS) as well co-currated the Kansas City Poetry Throwndown 2016-2017 (Kansas City, MO), and the Posie Avec Les Paiens series (2017- current).

Currently, he is the poetry director of the Rusted Straitjacket Unicycle Troop. Published in a variety of literary mediums, his most recent work "Base Jumping at Taughannok Falls" will be published by Ghosts For Valhalla Press in February 2024.  Jameson currently resides in the Allegheny Mountain region of Pennsylvania with his wife Kimberly and their loyal Jack Russell, Chase.
