Author's Bio

L Favicchia earned their PhD in creative writing at the University of Kansas in May 2023 and they hold an MFA in poetry from Bowling Green State University. In addition to writing poetry, creative nonfiction, lyrical essays, and hybrid forms, they also teach creative writing and literature. Their research and writing interests center around gender, sexuality, animal studies, contemporary fairy tale, and monster theory. Their debut collection of poetry, boy little girl, was published in 2023 by Main Street Rag, and their work has been published in North American Review, CAROUSEL, Gulf Stream Magazine, Permafrost, Glass: A Journal of Poetry, The Normal School, The Rupture, Post Road, and Okay Donkey, among others. Their chapbook, When a Whale, was a finalist in the 2022 Small Harbor Publishing Washburn Contest and the 2022 MAYDAY Micro Chapbook Contest. They are dedicated to teaching and contributing to literary communities, and they welcome opportunities to read, visit classrooms, and participate in workshops or on panels.
