Author's Bio

Margaret R. Sáraco, author of Even the Dog Was Quiet (Human, Error Publishing, 2023) and If There Is No Wind (Human Error Publishing, 2022),  is a writer who enjoys composing as well as performing her poetry and short stories. Her work has appeared in multiple anthologies and journals. She is a Writing the Land poet working with forest stewards to bring attention to protected lands. Two of her poems appear in Community Conversations: New Jersey's Covid-19 Storytelling Project, which chronicles personal accounts of artists as historical record of the pandemic, shared through library tours and presentations. Video and audio recordings of her work appear on Poetry of Protest and Struggle, New York Society Library 30 Days of Poetry, Writing the Land, DMQ Review and Quintessential Listening. Margaret leads writing workshops, reviews poetry books and has written numerous non-fiction articles and columns on contemporary life, music, health and feminism for a variety of publications. Her most recent short story appears in Royal Beauty, Arts by the People: Collection of the Writing Lab Summer Residency (2022).
