Author's Bio

Peter Maeck is a writer and photographer. His book-length poem "Remembrance of Things Present: Making Peace With Dementia" (Shanti Arts Publishing 2017), illustrated with his own photographs, celebrates his father's brave, good-humored experience with Alzheimer's Disease. Peter has presented "Remembrance of Things Present" at multiple TEDx events and international mental health conferences. Peter's new poetry collection, "Aperture," will be published in summer 2022. His novel, "Zänker," will be published on Feb. 7, 2023. Peter's stage plays and dance scenarios, including for Pilobolus and MOMIX Dance Theatres, have been produced in New York City, Europe, and Africa. Peter served as a U.S. State Department Cultural Specialist in Tanzania and Morocco. His photographs are in private collections and international galleries. He holds a BA in English magna cum laude from Dartmouth College and an MFA in Playwriting from Brandeis University. Peter is a member of The Authors Guild, The Dramatists Guild, The Academy of American Poets, The World Dignity Project, and the World Federation for Mental Health. More at: http://www.petermaeck.com
