Prartho Sereno

Prartho Sereno, M.A., M.F.A, Radio Disney Super Teacher, author of four prize-winning poetry collections and Poet Laureate Emerita of Marin County, CA, was a Poet in the Schools from 1999 to 2021. Known as a teacher’s teacher, she has delivered in-service workshops on the creative process to high school faculty, enrichment teachers, and in graduate seminars. Along with her tens of thousands of school-age students, Prartho mentors adults through her online series: "The Poetic Pilgrimage: Poem-Making as Spiritual Practice.” She shares her enthusiasm for the creative process in workshops that incorporate dance, music, visual arts, and meditation (which she studied over 4 years in India and taught at Cornell University for 5). Special-population clients have included incarcerated youth, senior citizens, and Alzheimer's patients.

Prartho holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Syracuse University and is author of the essay collection EVERYDAY MIRACLES: AN A TO Z GUIDE TO THE SIMPLE WONDERS OF LIFE.
