Author's Bio

Elected to Freelance Council seat to WGA East in 2012 for a two year term and recently made Lifetime Member of WGA East. Recent publications and productions of his play Caravaggio in Chicago, Rome and Carpi in English and Italian. Taught playwrighting in master's program at NYU. Read poetry at Cornelia Street Cafe, KGB etc. New book of poetry published The Other Colors In A Snow Storm by Bordighera Press (2009), his children's play Bird Brain by Dramatic Publishing (2010) and his new novel The Writers Afterlife will be published by Three Rooms Press in 2014. Performed Love The Night a story telling evening of true stories by Richard Vetere at the Cherry Lane Theater in May 2013 and previously at DR Lounge Oct 2012.

Guest of the Chicago Humanities Festival; Mary Roberts Rinehart Grant for playwrighting, CETA Cultural Council Grant for poetry and playwrighting and in 2011 the John Fante/Pietro DiDonato Literary Award. Pushcart Prize nomination for Fiction in 2013 for Champagne and Cocaine short story and in 2014 for The Writers Afterlife.
