Author's Bio

Walt Curtis is a poet, novelist, and painter, known as Portland’s “Unofficial Poet Laureate.” His autobiographical work, Mala Noche, became the basis for Gus Van Sant’s 1985 film of the same name. Curtis died at the age of eighty-two on August 25, 2023. (Photo credit: James Rexroad)
