Babylon Village Arts Council presents Poetry in the Village on Thursday April 4th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Jack Jack’s Coffee House, 223 Deer Park Ave, Babylon, NY. Featured poets Steps and Christie Leigh Babirad will be followed by an open mic. Admission is free. Open mic sign-up begins at 6:45 pm. The event is curated and emceed by Deborah Hauser who is the Poet Laureate of Suffolk County. This event is funded in part by Poets & Writers with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
Steps is a regular at local open mics. He has been published in The Scene and has featured at Green Space. His writing and performance style is a continuation of his family's artistic connection.
Christie Leigh Babirad is a proud resident of the town of Babylon and an award-winning author and poetess of numerous books including three poetry books. The primary hope she has for her readers is that her words and stories comfort and inspire.
