LIVE ON ZOOM | Sundays, 2-3:30 pm Eastern | Jul 14th – Aug 18th

Part of our new series of longer writing workshops for in-depth learning and moments of creation within the class.

Ready to tackle that writing project? Want to kickstart your writing habit? Cast aside excuses and roll up your sleeves.

Spark your creativity and build your practice in CRAFT TALKS’ new 6-week boot camp for all genres! Be guided with firm deadlines, engaging writing exercises, and valuable weekly feedback. Throughout this journey, you’ll cultivate the practice of regular writing during the workshop and weave that habit into your future writing practice. By the end of the 6-week session, you’ll leave with at least 6 pieces and a collection of techniques and processes that will set you up for success well after the boot camp concludes. Break through barriers to writing and unleash your wild creativity!

Every Saturday for 6 weeks, students will meet with the instructor at 2 pm Eastern time for a 90-minute session featuring:

  • lecture on approach and creative process
  • writing prompt, reading material, and brainstorming
  • facilitated sharing
  • three prompts to use in your own time

Over these six weeks, you will …

  • PRACTICE scheduled creativity to build the habit
  • WRITE initial drafts of at least six new pieces
  • RECEIVE twelve writing prompts you can use to continue your practice well after the course concludes
  • SHARE your work with others for in-class feedback
  • LEARN from texts that demonstrate wild creativity and
  • RECEIVE written instructor feedback on 800 words each week, for a total of 4,000 words

Live sessions will be hosted via Zoom. Discover “low-stakes” writing and risk-taking as a creative process to generate drastically new approaches to creating work.  Community support and feedback also encourage creativity and foster a sense of unity, even over Zoom.

This workshop is for:

  • writers of all genres
  • writers of all levels of experience and publication
  • writers who are feeling stuck
  • writers who want to explore new ways to generate material, take risks and try new things
  • writers who want to create new pieces
  • writers who want to participate in a supportive, fun, online community
  • writers having trouble fitting creativity into their daily routine
