Larissa Pham is an artist and writer based in Brooklyn, New York. Her essays and criticism have appeared in The Paris Review  Daily, Bookforum, Guernica, The Nation, and elsewhere. She is the author of Fantasian (2016). Her essay collection, Pop Song, published in 2021 is about love and about falling in love - with a place, or a painting, or a person - and the joy and terror inherent in the experience of that love. She was a 2017 Yi Dae Up Fellow at the Jack Jones Literary Arts Retreat, and she has taught creative writing at Kundiman, the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, and the New School.

Great Writers, Great Readings was launched by Hofstra University in recognition of the importance of writing and literature in a liberal arts education. Each Great Writers, Great Readings event brings a notable author to campus to meet with creative writing students for a short workshop and question/answer session. The author also conducts a reading and book signing that is open to the public. Sometimes the authors use this forum as an opportunity to introduce new unpublished works.

ALL GUESTS who attend a Hofstra University-sponsored indoor event should be vaccinated and be prepared to show proof of vaccination and an ID. Masks must be worn at ALL indoor events on campus.
