The Elting Memorial Library

The Elting Memorial Library offers the residents of New Paltz a wide variety of services, collections, and resources. Its mission is to promote literacy, build community, and inspire lifelong learning. The Library’s extensive collections, unique historical holdings, cultural programs, services and events, provided in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, are an accessible resource for all.

Unabridged Bookstore

Owner Ed Devereux opened Unabridged Bookstore in its current location in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood in 1980, and while it has expanded since, his vision has remained the same: to promote and sell great books. Unabridged is known for its dedicated and knowledgeable staff, their hand-written personal recommendations, and unparalleled sale book section. The bookstore hosts a variety of author events throughout the year.

Elliott Bay Book Company

Founded in 1973 and located in the heart of Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood business district, the Elliott Bay Book Company is a full-service bookstore, home to over 150,000 titles. Author readings and events are held monthly throughout the year.

Sacred Grounds Cafe

Sacred Ground Cafe’s open mic is one of the longest-running open mic series in the country. They have been serving up poetry and good food since 1972 to discerning San Franciscans and their guests. The series is a free speech zone and appreciates new voices.

New York Botanical Garden

The New York Botanical Garden is an iconic living museum and, since its founding in 1891, has served as an oasis in this busy metropolis. They regularly host poetry readings and book signings in a spacious auditorium.

The Blue Moose Cafe

The Blue Moose Café is a coffeehouse that hosts cultural events and entertainment. It features live music several times a week by local, regional, and national musicians of all genres. There are also literary readings, and monthly art exhibits and openings. 

The BookMark

The BookMark offers and hosts a wide range of programs, events, and services, including author readings and signings, book club meetings, storytime, personalized shopping, and more.

Notsuoh

Notsuoh is an event space and venue in downtown Houston that hosts frequent live music, performances, art and studio events, readings, and other local community events.

Stories on Stage

Stories on Stage is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) theater and literary organization. It engages audiences with dynamic and entertaining performances of short works of literature. Through the shared experience of live theater, the organization strives to inspire empathy and break down boundaries between cultures and generations.

The Bronx Museum of the Arts is an internationally recognized cultural destination that presents innovative contemporary art exhibitions and education programs and is committed to promoting cross-cultural dialogues for diverse audiences.
