Editorial Focus

Howling Bird Press publishes the best in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. They run an annual nationwide contest in alternating genres. They are the imprint of Augsburg University’s MFA in Creative Writing Program. As a teaching press, they are staffed by graduate students and led by a faculty member with extensive experience in literary publishing. They pride themselves on being a community as much as a press, as they strive to develop relationships between authors, editors, teachers, students, and readers.
