Tinker Mountain Writers’ Workshop Summer Residential Program

The annual Tinker Mountain Writers’ Workshop will be held from June 14 to June 19 at the Hollins University campus in Roanoke, Virginia. The conference features generative and critique workshops as well as craft talks, individual conferences with faculty members, readings, and social events for poets, fiction writers, nonfiction writers, and writers working across genres, as well as one-on-one manuscript consultations. The faculty includes poet Rebecca Lindenberg; fiction writers Amanda Cockrell, Dorothy Hassan, Fred G. Leebron, Daniel Mueller, and Lauren Osborn; and nonfiction writer Kristin Dombek. Participating publishing professionals include agent Barbara Jones (Stuart Krichevsky Literary Agency). The cost of tuition is $795. Housing is available on campus for $225 for the week or in nearby hotels beginning at a nightly rate of $94 for a double room or $99 for a king room; a campus meal plan is available for $200. Registration is first come, first served. Full and partial scholarships are available; submit a writing sample of up to five pages and a personal statement by March 2. There is no application fee.
