The program offers full funding through teaching assistantships and fellowships. There are also opportunities for literary internships with Dzanc Press.
The program is a research and studio hybrid program that provides all students with scholarly studies, teaching experience, and pedagogical training, as well as creative writing workshops.
Recent visiting writers include Jericho Brown, Andrew Sean Greer, Mary Ruefle, Kevin Brockmeier, Paul Harding, Kim Addonizio, Alice McDermott, Gregory Orr, David Wojahn, Ladee Hubbard, and Michael Prior. The program hosts an active reading series and invites both a visiting fiction writer and a visiting poet each year to lead one-on-one tutorials for a month.
