Author's Bio

I live in Hermitage, Pennsylvania with my husband, having recently moved from California. I am a psychologist.  I am politically active, support diversity, enjoy the arts and traveling, gardening. I'm about half fluent in French, admire immigrants, and occasionaly swear up a storm.

Prizes won: 

Awards with publication include: one of two finalists in the 2020 Breakwater Review Fiction Contest, and runner-up in the 2016 Big Wonderful Press Funny Poem contest. I was a finalist in the 2020 Arts and Letters Unclassifiable Fiction Contest and I received an honorable mention in the 2016 New Millennium Writings Award competition. I won the Poetry Prize at the Mendocino Coast Writers Conference. 

My work has been published in Birdland Journal, The Hunger, Vine Leaves Literary Journal, The RavensPerch, Kaaterskill Basin Literary Journal, Kansas City Voices, Alehouse, and elsewhere. My debut novel was published by Bedazzled Ink.

Favorite authors: 
A few of my favorite authors include: Arundhati Roy, Toni Morrison, Alice Munro, Ernest Hemingway, Sandra Cisneros, Georgia Hunter, Jack Kerouac for his style rather than his content, Frank McCourt, and James Herriot.
