Author's Bio

Gerri Brightwell is a British writer living in Alaska with her husband and sons. Her latest novel, Turnback Ridge, was published by Torrey House in October, 2022. She has three other novels: Dead of Winter (Salt Publishing, UK), The Dark Lantern (Crown) and Cold Country (Duckworth). Her writing has also appeared The Best American Mystery Stories 2017, Alaska Quarterly Review, Copper Nickel, Southwest Review, and many other venues. She has a PhD in literature from the University of Minnesota, as well as masters degrees in creative writing from the University of East Anglia, and the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. She currently teaches in the MFA programme at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
