Author's Bio

Currently, Seanan Forbes is working on a queer young-adult novel, a backstory to one of Shakespeare's plays, in which two extraordinary minor characters get full lives and a tale of their own.

Now a member of the New York Public Library's Center for Research and Humanities, Seanan is using all of the library's extensive resources, from rare books to period maps to works on Renaissance and Early Modern gender, sexuality, adolescence, racism, normative expectations --- and resistance against them -- and Shakespearean studies, giving the book deep roots in early seventeenth-century culture.
