Susan Isaacs is the author of fourteen novels, including Shining ThroughAny Place I Hang My HatLong Time No See, and Compromising Positions. Her most recent work is Takes One to Know One. She wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation of Compromising Positions (Paramount, 1985), and for Hello Again (Touchstone Pictures, 1987), which she also co-produced. Her books Shining Through and After All These Years have also been adapted for screen.

Isaacs is a recipient of the Barnes & Noble Writers for Writers Award, the Marymount Manhattan Writing Center Award, and the John Steinbeck Award. Isaacs is a former editor of Seventeen and a freelance political speechwriter. She serves on the board of Poets & Writers and was a past president of Mystery Writers of America. Isaacs lives on Long Island with her husband.
