Stories on Stage is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) theater and literary organization. It engages audiences with dynamic and entertaining performances of short works of literature. Through the shared experience of live theater, the organization strives to inspire empathy and break down boundaries between cultures and generations. In addition to their standard programming of actors dramatically reading short fiction, they create special shows at the request of citizens on topics of interest to their community, including slavery in America (The Slave Narratives), mental health (The Mind’s Eye), Latino culture (Beyond the Border), addiction (Addiction-Free: The Road From Hell and Bill W. and Dr. Bob), teen suicide prevention (Voices Out of Silence) and a bilingual theatrical program for elementary school students (Cuentame un Cuentito/Tell Me a Story).
