New Poets for Peace
Beginning this year New Poets for Peace, the New York City branch of Poets for Peace—a grassroots group that for the past decade has held free, donation-optional readings across the country to raise funds for international relief organizations—plans to host an event every six weeks in Manhattan, including a special reading and silent auction on March 21 in observance of the seventh anniversary of the U.S. military's invasion of Iraq.

Napa Valley Writers’ Conference
The 2023 Napa Valley Writers’ Conference was held from July 30 to August 4 on the main campus of Napa Valley College in Napa, California. The conference featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and translation, as well as craft talks and evening readings. The faculty included poets Victoria Chang, Brenda Hillman, Ilya Kaminsky, and Carl Phillips; fiction writers Lan Samantha Chang, Katie Crouch, Peter Orner, and Crystal Wilkinson; and translator Robert Hass. The cost of the conference was $1,100, which included tuition, daily breakfast and lunch, two dinners, and wine tastings.

Green Mountain Writers Conference
The 23rd annual Green Mountain Writers Conference was held from August 2 to August 6 at the historic Brandon Inn in Brandon, Vermont, a walkable Vermont village. The program featured workshops in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as discussions, one-on-one consultations, and readings. The faculty included poets Justen Ahren, Joan Aleshire, and Verandah Porche; fiction writers Jensen Beach, Elizabeth Inness-Brown, and Stephen P. Kiernan; creative nonfiction writer Chuck Clarino; and poet and nonfiction writer Yvonne Daley.

Kentucky Book Festival
The 2022 Kentucky Book Festival, presented by Kentucky Humanities, was held October 27 and October 29 in Lexington, Kentucky. The festival included a ticketed luncheon with fiction and nonfiction writer Geraldine Brooks and biographer and historian Emily Bingham on October 27 and culminated with a daylong celebration featuring book signings, story-times, discussions, and other events with 150 authors on October 29 at Joseph-Beth Booksellers.

North Carolina Writers’ Network Writingest State Conference
The 2020 North Carolina Writers’ Network Writingest State Conference was held online from November 10 to November 14. The conference featured classes in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, as well as conversations and panel discussions on the craft and business of writing. The faculty included poet Allison Adelle Hedge Coke; fiction writers Annette Saunooke Clapsaddle, Therese Anne Fowler, Matt Gallagher, Leah Hampton, and Art Taylor; and creative nonfiction writer Tracy Crow.
